About Lather + Soul Skincare

Skincare with Integrity (+ a Little Attitude)

Established in 2016 and reborn in 2023, Lather and Soul Skincare isn’t just another beauty brand—it’s a rebellion against the fear-mongering, misleading claims, and overhyped nonsense in the skincare world. Our founder, Pam Harlow, started this brand with a passion for real ingredients, real results, and real transparency. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just damn good skincare.

We make everything in-house—no cheap premade bases, only science-based formulas. Every product is crafted from our own developed and tested formulations because we believe in knowing exactly what goes on your skin. From ingredient sourcing to eco-conscious packaging, every detail matters. We keep things transparent, ethical, and backed by science...without the BS.

In a world obsessed with hustle, we invite you to slow down. Skincare isn’t just another thing to check off your list—it’s a ritual, a moment of self-care, a little act of defiance against the chaos. Whether you're lathering up with a crystal soap or giving your skin the nourishment it deserves, these aren’t just products. They’re a reminder that you deserve care, too.

Lather and Soul is more than skincare—it’s a movement.

Ethics + Your Ingredients

Transparency isn’t a buzzword here—it’s the foundation of everything we do. You deserve to know exactly what’s going on your skin, which is why every product comes with a detailed ingredient list. Thoroughly researched, science-based, high-quality ingredients that belong in skincare.

We handcraft everything in small batches using USDA-certified organic or Ecocert-approved raw ingredients whenever possible. We also prioritize locally sourced materials because good skincare should be good for the planet too.

And let’s be clear: we don’t do shady business. We only work with ethical suppliers who share our values—Fair Trade, no child labor, no animal testing. Every product we create is 100% cruelty-free (and yes, our test subjects are always willing participants 😉).

We don’t just make skincare—we take a stand. Silence in the face of injustice? Not our style. With Lather and Soul, you’re not just choosing ethical, transparent skincare. You’re supporting a brand that stands for something. We routinely give back, whether it’s donating soap scraps to Eco-Soap Bank to support global hygiene initiatives, contributing to organizations like The Trevor Project, or supporting other charitable causes that align with our values. Because integrity isn’t just about what goes into our products—it’s about what we put back into the world.

"Black lives matter, love is love, science is real, feminism is for everyone, no human is illegal, and kindness is everything."

If that speaks to you, welcome. You’re in the right place.

Sustainability + Environmentally Conscious

Being “eco-friendly” isn’t just a label we slap on for marketing—it’s woven into everything we do. Let’s be real: the beauty industry is inherently wasteful. That’s why we don’t call ourselves a “sustainable beauty brand” (because, honestly, that doesn’t exist). Instead, we focus on minimizing waste, making smarter choices, and being as low-impact as possible—without the greenwashing.

We prioritize Fair Trade and organic raw materials like cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, and sugar—because quality shouldn’t come at the expense of people or the planet. And when it comes to soap? Palm oil? Never heard of her. We keep our formulations palm-free to combat deforestation, habitat destruction, and environmental degradation.

Our eco-conscious choices don’t stop at ingredients:

♻ Packaging? Thoughtfully chosen. Our shipping materials, tissue paper, gift wrap, shopping bags, and most shipping boxes are all made from recycled materials and fibers. Even our packing tape is 50% recycled and recycle-friendly.

đŸŒ± Packing materials? Compostable & biodegradable. From our tree-free bagasse packing slips to our biodegradable kraft paper cushioning (bye, bubble wrap!), everything is designed to break down, not pile up in a landfill.

đŸŒČ Business cards? Ancient Forest Friendly, acid-free, and 100% recycled. Because even the little things should do better.

đŸ«§ Packing peanuts? Starch-based and dissolve in water. (Seriously, try it—it’s oddly satisfying.)

We may be a small business, but we take sustainability seriously. No performative BS—just real, intentional choices to reduce impact where we can. Because small changes? They create rippling effects.
