Meet the Maker

Pam, the owner of Lather + Soul Skincare

Welcome! I’m Pam—the heart and, well, soul behind Lather + Soul Skincare. I wear many hats: science junkie, alchemy nerd, conscious product creator, and amateur photographer. But my most important role? Mom. My son isn’t just my reason to hustle—he’s my reason to love, laugh, breathe, and persevere.

My skincare journey started with a love for science and chemistry—and a deep frustration with the gimmicks and fear mongering in the beauty industry. I wanted to create ethical, effective, and transparent products. No bullsh*t, no misleading marketing, no nonsense fear marketing, just good skincare. And so, Lather + Soul was born.

But my journey here wasn't paved with ease. I walked away from an abusive marriage, got laid off from a job I held for 14 years, and I found myself a newly single mom of a toddler, having also faced the heartbreak of a miscarriage just months before. I navigated a divorce nightmare that consumed two years and nearly all my savings. But through the adversity, I found my voice, my resilience, and my belief in the power of love and self-discovery.

Lather + Soul Skincare grew with me through these trials. It became a beacon of hope and strength, and my rebellion against giving up. I not only survived but thrived. I discovered what true love actually looks and feels like, and I found my best friend, Matt, who stood by me, supporting and encouraging my dreams.

Second degree black belt in Krav Maga by Pam Harlow

Outside the world of skincare, you'll find me in a different arena: Krav Maga. Martial arts has become my sanctuary, my therapy, and my second family. In 2021, I achieved one of my dreams — earning my black belt. And then in 2024, I earned my second degree black belt, the most grueling test my body has ever physically endured. Martial arts is more than a sport; it's a source of community, inspiration, and resilience. And this is also where I found my true love and best friend, Matt.

My path hasn’t been traditional. I studied photography at Massachusetts College of Art, dabbled in wireless communications and nursing, and eventually found my true calling: creating something meaningful with my own two hands.

And now, here we are. Lather + Soul isn’t just my business. It’s my passion, my purpose, and my proof that you can build something beautiful from the toughest moments in life.

Thank you for being here, for supporting this journey, and for believing in what we do.

 With love and gratitude,
